The gastric band also known as Lap-Band or Realize Band is an effective long-term weight control tool. It works by simply wrapping around the upper portion of the stomach and restricts the amount of food that can be consumed at any one sitting. It is also the least invasive of any major bariatric surgery procedure we perform. Long-term results show excellent weight loss when the patient follows the diet and exercise regimen prescribed after surgery.

Lap-Band patients can, on average, expect to improve or resolve the diseases associated with morbid obesity that include: high cholesterol, type-2 diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea among others.
